This week developer Abvent announced that it has sold Twinmotion top Epic Games, developer of the game engine Unreal.
Twinmotion at Epic Games
With the acquisition, Epic Games has announced that Twinmotion will be made available free of charge until a new paid version is offered by Epic in November 2019.In order to accommodate existing (paying) customers for this free version, Epic has made the following arrangement:
Anyone who purchased an (upgrade) license for Twinmotion 2019 after January 1, 2019 and before May 13, 2019 can apply for a refund via Epic Games. In addition, these customers will receive a free upgrade to the new version in November 2019!
When requesting a refund, it is important that you provide at least the following information:
- Full company name;
- Contact person;
- Country;
- A copy of a valid invoice / proof of purchase;
- A PayPal account for the refund.
New version Twinmotion
In addition, Epic Games immediately released a new service release for Twinmotion 2019 with the following improvements:- Glow Effects now contribute to global illumination;
- Direct Link for ARCHICAD and Revit is now faster and more robust;
- Performance has been improved for playback, scene opening, and video export;
- All users can now access a shared library for team collaboration, a feature previously only available in Twinmotion Team;
- H264 encoding video directly handled by OS.
